Shopping fabrics will be fun by having some simple information.

Their are huge fabric selection  to choose from and knowing the basic information of fabrics will help you choose better.

There are many types of fusing. Some are stretch like tricot fusing, and others are non stretch like paper fusing. Some fusing fabrics have more glue, while others don’t. The weights of fusing also differ. The heavier the fusing is the more support it gives. You can not say heavier fusing is better than lighter fusing. It all depends on the fabric and for what part or purpose it is used. Sheer fabrics, like chiffon fabric needs lighter support. Charmeuse fabric needs a heavier support.

Usually stretch fabrics use stretch tricot fusing for its support, and non stretch fabrics, regular non stretch fusing known as paper fusing. Tricot fusing is a two way mechanical support for the textile fabric. You can also find four way stretch fusing for your fabric need.

Tricot fusing comes in different width. They usually come in 60 inch width, but 48 and 54 inches are also available. For mass production the rollups of tricot fusing is 200 yards per roll. The colors for tricot fusing are charcoal, white and off white.

Cutting tricot fusing or any type of fusing is done at the same time with the fabric. First a layer of fabric is spread and then a layer of fusing on top. After spreading a few layers of fabric and in between layers of fusing, the process of cutting starts.
