It is not advised to try to remove stains by rubbing a cloth and some water against silk chiffon items. This delicate fabric tends to stretch when is wet. To remove stains from chiffon textile fabric that are not very deep in color or oily, one must act immediately while it is fresh. First put a paper towel behind and on top of the stain. Press on both sides (do not rub) to absorb and remove fresh stains as much as possible. Spray some cold water on the stain. Water will reduce the concentration of the substance causing the stain on the chiffon items. You can repeat the above steps a few times until you are satisfied.
Chiffon items with oily or deep colors stains have to be treated professionally. You can use the above steps only to reduce, but not remove stains as the first aid. Make sure you don't spread the stains while attempting to reduce or removing from the chiffon items.
Dry cleaning chiffon fabric is mostly advised by the manufacturers label attached to the chiffon right items.
Dryers are not recommended to dry polyester chiffon and most sheer fabrics. Chiffon fabrics dry very fast in an open surrounding. Clamps leave marks if used on chiffon items
Hot Ironing chiffon items are strictly not recommended. Polyester and nylon fabrics will immediately stick to the hot iron. Steaming a few inches away, and cold ironing are good choices, with care for your chiffon items. The secret is the way you choose to wash and dry to avoid crinkles and damages.
