The primary fibers used to produce charmeuse woven satin textile are polyester, cotton, and silk. Cotton charmeuse fabric is used mostly as a woven lining fabric in gowns. The shiny look of satin, soft feel and absorbent, are a few factors of the popularity of cotton charmeuse fabric. Stores, outlets, and online centers sell items made with cotton charmeuse fabric. Contrast colors of poyester charmeuse textile fabic are used for wedding dresses, robes, casual wear, sports wear, plus size active wear, and many other outfits and garments.

Charmeuse fabric, and also chiffon textile fabric, have not yet found their right place for menswear. Charmeuse robes, scarves, and ties are almost the only popular right items for men.

Right lighter shades look more nice for bed items, like satin sheets, bed skirts, and comforters with some chiffon or other textile fabric used as contrast and decoration.

Charmeuse Fabric Cutting: There are many ups and downs for cutting fabrics. It has been a big challenge to cut this woven lightweight slippery satin fabric, by untrained cutters. Only cutters with more experience are able to cut and handle this delicate textile.  On items where large pieces of satin fabric is used, as for quilting on wool blankets, cutting is easier than smaller pieces. Special fabric clamps are used to keep this slippery fabric in place while cutting or spreading fabric charmeuse.

Charmeuse fabric sewing:  Charmeuse is also difficult to sew, especially when it is not a straight line, like in a blouse. Fabric sheets slip easily from the deck of the sewing machine.  Unwanted stitches, as well as pin holes, leave marks on woven charmeuse, and could be very difficult or impossible to remove. Well planned sewing guide is essential for charmeuse textile fabric.

Charmeuse fabric care: This woven textile fabric, needs special care, especially white. Although charmeuse is not considered as a pricey fabric, it is a delicate satin textile. This fabric tears easily especially when it is wet. Washing must be made by hand with care. Dry flat, or hang to avoid crinkles. For better care, do not use clamps to hold your dress, scarves or others, for any reason. It will leave marks on this satin fabric, plus hard to remove.

Remove stains from polyester charmeuse fabric is not a big issue. One should always remember to remove stains as soon as possible. If the stain is not oily or deep in color, then it will be easy to remove with cold water and always clean fresh towel. It is very important that every time you attempt to use the towel for cleaning, use only the section of the towel that has not yet been in contact with the stain.  This will save time and has better results. You can also hand wash with care polyester charmeuse.

Silk charmeuse needs more care because of its delicate fibers. Put a dry paper towel under and over the fresh stain. Press on both sides. This will absorb part of the stained spot. Spray some cold water on the stain to reduce the concentration. Again place a clean and dry piece of paper towel on both sides of the stain. Press hard on both sides to absorb the spill or stain. Repeat the steps until you are satisfied. Rubbing will not help much to remove stains from silk fabric. It will just push in deep, and spread more the stains into the fibers resulting damaged charmeuse textile fabric.
